Fire Closes One Wing of Grovetown High School Today
Martinez Home Heavily Damaged by Fire this Afternoon
One wing of the Grovetown High School building is closed for the time being, following a fire this morning in the automotive lab.
A statement from Principal Craig Baker says a car battery charger caused a fire in the lab before any students or staff had entered the building.
“No structural damage was reported, however, out of an abundance of caution, the entire 500 wing of the building will be closed until the smell of smoke dissipates, and students will be relocated to another area of the building for class,” said Baker.
Baker said the school day will continue as normal. Fire crews deemed the building safe to occupy.
