Severe Weather Possible in the CSRA

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for counties in the CSRA until 2:00 this afternoon. Heavy thunderstorms with strong, gusty winds are possible. Up to an inch of rainfall can also be expected with the storms. At 9:20 this morning, severe storms were located along a line extending from near Harlem to near Wadley, moving east at 45 mph. Wind gusts of up to 60 mph can be expected, along with damage to trees and powerlines.
A second wave of storms this afternoon is expected to bring the highest risk of tornadoes. The severe weather is expected to move out of the area by this evening. It will be partly cloudy tonight with the low near 49. Back to sunshine and a high of 68 degrees on Thursday.
