A Hephzibah woman was arrested after she reportedly hit a pedestrian, dragging him for several miles. The Richmond County Sherriff’s Office charged Jasmine Stephenson, 33, with homicide by vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident in the death of 50-year-old William Bell.

According to investigators, Bell’s body was found in a parking lot on Milledgeville Road and Deans Bridge Road at 1:45 AM on Thursday, December 22nd after Stephenson hit him, followed by dragging him for about seven miles.

According to the coroner’s office, an autopsy has been scheduled.
