Rescue Of The Week; Max

Our rescue of the week is Max.

Max is a beautiful 9-month-old “pit mix”.  He was rescued from a situation where he was being starved to death.  When he got to the shelter he was “skin and bones”. No fat, no muscle, and only 19 lbs.

Today, he’s 38lbs, and will probably top out at between 45-50lbs.

He’s learning that life can be good.  He’s playing with a few toys, learning that affection is a good thing and not all humans are bad.  He’s working on his leash skills, he sits tall for treats and takes them gently.  It takes him a while to warm up to affection, but he knows if you have a treat, you’re his best friend.

He’s good with other dogs, BUT NOT WITH CATS.  He’s up to date on his shots, neutered, HW tested (-).

If you would like to meet him, come on by.  The shelter is open Monday thru Friday 11-4, Saturday from 12-4.

He’s really ready for a loving family.
