Student Injured by Knife During Brawl at Aiken High School

Authorities at Grovetown High School say a pocketknife was discovered in a student's possession today.

School administrators say the student was initially reported for consuming an alcoholic beverage on campus this morning.  That's when the pocketknife and other possible drug-related items were found.

The student has been charged with having a weapon on school grounds, as well as possession of alcohol.  The student, who was removed from campus, will also be held accountable according to the Code of Conduct.

Principal Craig Baker said there was never a direct threat made to the school or any students or staff members.  The school day is continuing, as normal.

Baker is asking parents to talk to their children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and the consequences for bringing such items on campus.
