We always love a great story of local businesses helping out those in need.  And one local Augusta restaurant raised money to help end childhood hunger.

Barberitos Southwestern Grill and Cantina partnered with WOWorks brands to help raise money to end childhood hunger.  According to a press release, 1 in 8 kids in America face hunger every year.

Augusta Restaurant Raised The Most Money

Thanks to the support of the local community, Barberitos in Augusta raised $1,300 for this great cause.  The fundraising amount was matched by WOWorks, making that total $2,600. This money will help provide healthy meals for kids in need.

Here's what Ashley Reeves, the General Manager for Barberitos Augusta, had to say about the fundraising efforts.

“It was amazing to see our team and community come together to help raise money for childhood hunger the last few months. We are so proud to have been the top fundraiser this year for such a worthy cause that will give back to our community. We would not have been able to meet this goal without the help of our guests and dedicated team, and we are looking forward to participating again in the future.”

Fundraising at Barberitos

The fundraising efforts on behalf of all Barberitos Southwestern Grill and Cantina locations started September 7th.  The campaign wrapped up November 1st. Guests were able to support this fundraiser in various ways.  Since the Augusta restaurant raised the most money, they received the matching donation from WOWorks.  They will also receive a visit from the WOWorks CEO Kelly Roddy and $500 to share among staff at the Augusta location.
