The Georgia Department of Transportation will be closing one right westbound lane of I-20 at the Georgia-South Carolina state line as part of the Savannah River Bridge project.

The right-lane closure will be in place on I-20 westbound from Exit 1 in South Carolina to the Augusta Canal from Tuesday, November 29, from 8:00 p.m. until Wednesday, November 30, at 6:00 a.m.  The closure is needed for the delivery and placement of concrete girders for ongoing construction on the new bridge.

Both the left and right shoulder of I-20 westbound will be closed as well during that period.

Expect delays in that area while the work is underway.  Motorists should also reduce speed while traveling through the work zone and watch for workers
