The Richmond County Board of Elections met this morning and voted unanimously to allow Sunday voting, November 27, in advance of the December 6 runoff election.

A Fulton County Superior Court Judge ruled Friday that each county in Georgia would be allowed to decide whether early voting would be allowed this weekend.  State law prohibits voting on the Saturday following a holiday, but some argued the law did not apply to runoff elections.

The Richmond County Board of Elections decided today to allow early voting this Sunday, but hours have not been announced yet.  Early voting will also be held next week, from November 28 through December 2.  Monday through Friday hours are 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

There will be four polling locations open for early voting all 6 days in Richmond County:  The Board of Elections Office in the Municipal Building; Henry Brigham Center on Golden Camp Road; Warren Road Community Center on Warren Road; and Diamond Lakes Community Center on Diamond Lakes Way.

Voters have two races to decide in Richmond County.  The runoff between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker in the Senate race, and the District 2 seat on the Richmond County School Board.

There will be no weekend voting in Columbia County.  Early voting will be held November 28-December 2 in Building G-3 near the Evans Government Center, or at the former Euchee Creek Libary in Grovetown.  Hours all week are 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
