Warming Center Open Sunday Night in Richmond County

Richmond County officials say May Park Community Center will be used as an overnight warming center Sunday night.

In anticipation of freezing temperatures, the Center at 622 4th Street will be open from 6:00 pm Sunday until 9:00 am Monday.

Those in need of shelter must be inside the facility by 9:00 Sunday night.  Registration will be done between 5 pm and 9 pm that day.  You must bring valid identification and masks will be required.  No weapons will be permitted.

There are other warming centers available to the community during normal operating hours.  Those include:

Bernie Ward Center:  1941 Lumpkin Rd in Augusta.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm

Blythe Center:  3129 HWY 88 in Blythe.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm

Carrie J. Mays Center:  1014 11th Ave. in Augusta.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm

Robert Howard Community Center:  103 Diamond Lakes Way in Augusta.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm

Henry Brigham Center:  2463 Golden Camp Road in Augusta.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm

May Park:  622 4th Street in Augusta.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm

McBean Center:  1155 Hephzibah-McBean Road.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm

Sand Hills Center:  2540 Wheeler Road in Augusta.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm

Warren Road Center:  300 Warren Road in Augusta.  Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm
