Deans Bridge Road Traffic Shifting to New Bridge
The Georgia Department of Transportation plans a shift traffic this Wednesday, November 9, for the North Fork Spirit Creek southbound bridge replacement project, nearly five miles northwest of Hephzibah.
One lane of southbound traffic will be shifted onto the new bridge, weather permitting, which will allow contractors to remove the temporary median detour that's been in place since March.
GDOT says both inside lanes will stay closed until the median crossover is removed. One lane will remain open in each direction in the work zone.
The reconstruction of the bridge, which was built in 1952, is expected to be finished by the end of this year.
