Where does yours fall? There's only one you SHOULD work for. Here we go...
Grinder Boss
Grinder boss works hard, and that can be a good thing. But they can make you feel that you have to perform at their level and pace, or otherwise you're "a subpar performer". They're never really satisfied with what others do.
Motivator Boss
There are some great leadership qualities with a motivator boss. They're optimistic and always want you to "look on the bright side". They can sometimes make it hard to acknowledge problems because of their positive attitude.
Ghost Boss
A ghost boss is just never around. They're not up-to-date with what their employees are doing and they're rarely around when their employees need them.
Narcissist Boss
This boss only worries about themselves and how they feel. They base their actions on what will benefit them, therefore, employees don't feel cared for.
Wants To Be Your BFF Boss
These bosses like being liked. They sometimes care more about making friends on the job than getting the job done. They can even distract you from your work because they just want to hang around.
Accountable But Caring Boss
These are the ones for whom you want to work. They give you honest feedback about your work, good or bad and they challenge you to perform at your best. They also genuinely care about you as a human being.
Volcano Boss
Kinda like the ghost boss because they just aren't into the work that you're doing. They're no help with advising you how to get your job done. But, when they're not satisfied with a task or assignment they've given you, they "erupt and blow up". Never realizing that they are a big reason you were unable to complete the assigned task successfully.
