Time to Register for the Annual James Brown Turkey Giveaway
The late Godfather of Soul started providing Thanksgiving turkeys to families in need in the CSRA back in 1993. Since James Brown's death in 2006, his family continues to carry on the tradition each year.
The James Brown Family Foundation is hosting the annual turkey giveaway Monday, November 21, at 8 a.m. in the James Brown Arena parking lot.
You must be registered though to receive a free Thanksgiving turkey. There will be three Saturdays to register, starting October 29. Registrations will also be held the following two Saturdays, on November 5 and November 12.
Registrations all three Saturdays will be held at May Park, 622 Fourth Street, from 9 am until 11 am. You must provide a valid state ID, and a utility bill or lease agreement to verify residency at the time of registration.
