Grovetown authorities responded to a home in the 300 block of James Street just after 6:00 this morning where they found two unresponsive males.  It appeared both were suffering from narcotics overdoses.  Lifesaving measures were administered and authorities say one male responded, the other appeared to have been dead for some time.  The person's name is being withheld for the time being to ensure that all family members have been notified.

Grovetown authorities say two other males were found in the home when police arrived.  They were transported to the Grovetown Public Safety Office for questioning.  During the course of the investigation, authorities say they learned 29-year-old Johnny Vasquez-Morales of Grovetown had allegedly provided the narcotics to the men who were found unresponsive.  Vasquez-Morales was in possession of narcotics when he was found.  He admitted to authorities that he distributed the narcotics that led to the overdoses.

Vasquez-Morales is in custody at the Columbia County Detention Center charged with Trafficking of a Schedule II Substance (Fentanyl) and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute.

"This is an active investigation.  Once an autopsy is completed and toxicology reports are received, Investigators will be meeting with the District Attorney's Office to discuss possible further charges," according to a news release from Grovetown Public Safety.
