I don't know what it's like in your house, but fall's arrival also brings the annual war about the thermostat.

Women are NEVER cold, they're ALWAYS freezing.  Let me just go ahead and give you my e-mail now, john@wgac.com.  Just e-mail me with your complaints.

I've learned over the last year, that I tend to keep the thermostat higher than most in the summer, and lower than most in the winter.  I get that information, not from Google, or Edge, but from the female search engine with whom I live.

There's really only one reason I keep the thermostat on those temperatures...MONEY!  Higher in the summer and lower in the winter seems to be a cost saver and also energy efficient.  I'm always trying to reduce my carbon footprint (sigh).  She has, over the years, either, gotten better about living with those settings, or, she has just given up the fight.

I've learned by talking to the air conditioning folks I have from Bailey's on the business review that I'm an outlier with those settings.  Most folks go lower in the summer.  OK, almost EVERYONE goes lower in the summer.  And most, are higher in the winter.  Are there conversations in your house about this sort of thing.  I can say, one of the positives about being the age I am, there are no longer children to think about and deal with when it comes to the thermostat.  In the words of Grover Washington Jr., it's "Just The Two Of Us".

As I mentioned, we seem to have come to terms with this situation.  That's not to say all situations have been resolved.  When there's more space, and specifically more time, and I have a drink in my hand, I'll tell you about the conversations that take place regarding the ceiling fans.  One of us wants them on all the time, the other does not.
