ARC Student Brings Gun to School
Parents of students at the Academy of Richmond County learned that a student brought a gun to school yesterday. A letter was sent home from Principal Jason Medlin, informing parents that the student had a 9 mm handgun “that was discovered during an administrative investigation into a safety concern reported by a parent.”
Medlin said no students or employees were harmed or believed to be in danger. He explained, “School Safety and Security Officers immediately secured the weapon and are working to complete the investigation.”
School system officials remind parents and students that any suspicious activity should be reported to school officials or to the Richmond County School System Tip Line at (706) 828-1077.
