New Covid-19 Booster Shots Now Available in Georgia and South Carolina
Health officials in Georgia and South Carolina say the updated Covid-19 booster shots are now available in both states.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the booster is designed to protect against Covid-19 as well as the more contagious subvariants.
The Pfizer booster is recommended for those 12 and over, while the Moderna vaccine is recommended for those who are at least 18.
The boosters, which are free, are available at many Walgreens and CVS pharmacies as well as at most county health department offices. You can get a complete list of vaccination sites at www.vaccines.gov.
Health officials say you should wait two months after getting your last dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, or three months after having Covid before getting the new booster.
