Deadline to Order Free At-Home Covid-19 Tests Approaching
Free At-Home COVID-19 Test Kits are Available at Most South Carolina Health Department Locations
This Friday, September 2, is the last day you can order free at-home Covid-19 testing kits from the government, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A surge in Covid-19 cases is expected this fall and officials say Congress hasn’t provided additional funding to replenish the nation’s stock pile of tests.
Officials say that’s why they’re trying to preserve the supply they have.
To order the free at-home Covid-19 tests before the deadline on Friday, go to www.special.usps.com/testkits.
Free testing will still be available at retailers and pharmacies. Insurance companies will still be required to provide or reimburse patients for up to eight tests a month.
