Seniors, Medicare recipients and physically, visually or hearing impaired persons will now get 50% off regular Augusta transit fares.

A regular fixed single fare is $1.25, but those who qualify for the discount will pay just 60 cents.

Seniors who are 65 and older will only need to show proof of age when requesting the discounted fare.  Medicare riders will have to show their valid Medicare card to the bus operator to get the reduced rate.

Mobility-challenged riders may be eligible for Augusta Transit's paratransit service, which includes transportation to meet the individual and take them to their destination.   To register for the service, call (706) 821-1721 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
