A man was shot and killed in Richmond County early this morning.

Coroner Mark Bowen says 35-year-old Damien Tanksley of Richmond Hill Road was shot at least one time at the Get It To Go store in the 2300 block of Windsor Spring Road.  The shooting was reported at 12:46 a.m.  Tanksley died at Augusta University Medical Center at 10:21 a.m. today.

An autopsy has been scheduled.  For now, authorities say Tanksley's murder is in the early stages of the investigation and no other information can be released at this time.
