On Wednesday, authorities were called to the Economy Inn on Deans Bridge Road.  A 16-year-old Richmond County teen had been shot. Kaymaya Greene was shot at least once and transported to Augusta University Medical Center.  Unfortunately, Greene succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the hospital. An autopsy is pending.

According to Augusta Crime - The Jail Report, Demarcus Clark, 19, from Augusta, was charged with murder and weapon possession.

Authorities report the suspect and victim arrived at the Economy Inn with another male.  An argument began between the suspect and victim.  Greene then spit at and threw a drink at Clark.  This was ultimately what led him to pull the gun and shoot the teen.

The other male was not charged. Greene had been in media reports numerous times as a missing person or runaway.
