Teenage Girl Shot and Killed at Local Hotel, Suspect in Custody

A Richmond County teen was shot at least one time early this morning at the Economy Inn at 3061 Deans Bridge Road.

Coroner Mark Bowen says 16-year-old Kaymaya Greene of Augusta was shot in the leg around 6:00 a.m.   She was transported to Augusta University Medical Center where she died less than an hour later.  An autopsy has been scheduled.

Nineteen-year-old Demarcus Clark of Augusta has been taken into custody and charged with Greene's murder.  Investigators went door-to-door this morning at the hotel trying to get information from potential witnesses.

Greene's death came less than a day after Anthony Lee Flowers was shot and killed at the Corner Store on Wheeless Road.  A man was allegedly shot by his wife Monday at Janwiches sandwich shop on Columbia Nitrogen Road.  He is recovering from his injuries.
