CDC Has Relaxed Guidelines for COVID Screening, Quarantine, and Social Distancing

Due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases being reported in Aiken and Barnwell Counties, masks are now required again at the Savannah River Site.

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions said Wednesday that it is reinstating mandatory mask protocols for Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Vendors to access a Department of Energy owned or leased facility managed and operated by the company.

A memo states, “All personnel regardless of vaccination status shall wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth and is in accordance with current CDC and Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidance in vehicles on the Savannah River site, with more than one occupant, and indoors with some exceptions.”   Masks won’t be required when an individual is alone in an enclosed office or if there is an aggravating medical condition.

Contract tracing is performed for all symptomatic and COVID-19 positive personnel.
