Residents in most of South Carolina's 46 counties are being urged to go back to wearing masks as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says 32 of those counties are considered to have high levels of the virus, while only 13 have medium levels.

Counties on the list reporting high levels of cases include Aiken, Edgefield, Barnwell, Newberry, McCormick, Saluda, Bamberg and Orangeburg.  In fact, recent data shows COVID-19 cases have risen 16.8% in South Carolina in the last month.

The CDC is recommending those living in areas with high levels of COVID-19 use masks while inside, including schools and workplaces.
