Have you used one of the available ridesharing companies lately.

You know who they are, they’re great when you’ve decided that you’re going to have a wonderful time when going out and might just need someone else behind the wheel for the ride home.

It seems to be a more needed service in larger metropolitan areas, but I know a LOT of people here in Augusta that use them ALL THE TIME.

Do you feel safe, when using one of the available companies?  Have you ever felt less than safe, especially if you’re a women and you’re traveling alone?

In 2019, there was a horrible story out of Columbia, when a University of South Carolina student, was murdered after getting into a car she thought the ride service company she contacted had sent.

There just might be an answer for you.

To prevent crimes like that, a unique company has emerged, it’s called Trips 4 Women.

It’s designed specifically for women and children.

Neil Gordon’s Augusta Business Daily says the service has arrived in Augusta.

According to the article, Trips 4 Women hires only women drivers. According to their website, the drivers have the choice and flexibility to select their ride and choose whoever they feel comfortable transporting.  They don’t discriminate against gender, but they don’t force their drivers if they don’t feel comfortable.  Neil’s article goes on to say that the service is available between the hours of 7:30am and 10pm and that drivers earn sixty percent of each fare.

As far as the users are concerned,  there’s an app available in both the Apple App and Google Play stores.  According to the company’s website, there’s real time tracking and enhanced security features.

According to Neil’s article, the Florida based service is currently available in Atlanta, portions of South Carolina and Colorado but quickly spreading to other cities.
