Gas prices continue to trickle down in Georgia and South Carolina, but they’re still way above prices at the pump at this time last year.
The average price for a gallon of gas in Georgia is now $4.04 a gallon, which is 15 cents less than it was a week ago. Prices are 45 cents a gallon cheaper than they were a month ago.
In South Carolina, the average price has dropped below $4 a gallon for the first time in months. The average statewide price today is $3.99 a gallon. That’s 52 cents less than a month ago, but still $1.13 more than at this time last year.
Even with the recent drop in gas prices, the average motorist in Georgia and South Carolina is paying, on average, about $16 more to fill their gas tanks versus one year ago.
The average national price for gas today is $4.75 a gallon. It was $3.21 one year ago.
