CDC Has Relaxed Guidelines for COVID Screening, Quarantine, and Social Distancing

The visitation policy at Augusta University Health facilities changes today.  Officials say due to a recent increase in the COVID-19 positivity rate in the Augusta area, new requirements go into effect today at all its medical facilities.

Visitors are now required to wear medical grade face masks while in the building and will be required to observe proper hand hygiene, according to an A-U Health news release.  If visitors don’t have a mask, Blue Coat Ambassadors at the hospital entrances will provide one.

No visitors will be allowed for patients who have COVID-19, and non-COVID patients will be allowed to have two family members at a time.

Waiting rooms will stay open with physical distancing.

The new visitation and mask requirements will remain in place as long as there is an uptick in COVID-19 cases.
