Child Pulled From Pool in Burke County Has Died

The four year old child that was pulled from a private pool late Tuesday morning on deer Run Road in Burke County has died.

The boy was found in the pool and unresponsive at 11:00 a.m.  yesterday.  A nurse who was on the scene started CPR until EMA units arrived.

The child was initially taken to Burke County Hospital, then transferred to Children's Hospital of Georgia.

A statement from the Burke County Sheriff's Office this morning says the child has died.  An autopsy will determine the cause of death.  The boy's mother, Dori Scott, said on a Facebook post that Israel had just started swimming lessons the day before.

The case is still being investigated and no other information has been released yet.
