Many experts say you should drink a glass of water between every alcohol drink you consume, but let’s face it, that practice rarely happens according to plan. You should try and drink a couple of glasses of water before you go to bed, and a couple aspirin wouldn’t hurt, either If water and aspirin aren't cutting it, some might say to reach for one of those “sports drinks” to replenish electrolytes.  Those work alright, but from personal experience, this writer recommends Pedialyte. Pedialyte contains less sugar but more sodium and potassium. Seriously…don’t knock it until you try it.

A heat advisory is in effect for portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. today.

The high temperature is expected to hit 103 degrees with heat index values up to 112 expected.

Remember to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air conditioned room, stay out of the sun, wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible, and know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

If you have to work outside, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.

A reminder that young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
