As of today,  AMBER alerts will be issued on Instagram for the first time.   Facebook users have been getting the alerts since 2015, but you will now be able to get the same information about a missing child, including a picture, description and location of the abduction on Instagram.

Chances of finding a missing child increase when more people are on the lookout, especially within the first few hours.

If an AMBER alert is activated by law enforcement and you are in the the designated search area, the alert will now appear in your Instagram feed.
