Aiken Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce the return of RUN UNITED, a race event that benefits United Way of Aiken County. The race event includes a 1-mile Kids’ Fun Run, 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. The race routes include the horse and historic districts and South Boundary. A special tribute to our fallen heroes, “Wear Blue Mile” will be along the route for all three races. RUN UNITED will also feature a food truck village for
runners and spectators to enjoy. All participants in each race category will receive a medal, souvenir photo, and t-shirt. Cash rewards of $4,300 will be distributed among top performers in the half marathon category.
Kids aged 3-9 will participate for free, thanks to the generosity of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, as well as receive a free cup of ice cream compliments of Murphy Auto Group and Clemson’s Best Ice Cream. Race
registration will be waived for 100 5k participants thanks to the generosity of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Aiken.

Attendees can look forward to special appearances from Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen. Runners are encouraged to pick up their race packets on Friday, April 29th, at the Aiken Municipal Building
between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. by way of the Alley entrance.

Race Day: Saturday, April 30, 2022, 6:30 a.m. Race Check-In at the Newberry Street Festival Area

7:00 a.m. Race Kickoff

7:30 a.m. Start Time for 10K and Half-Marathon

7:45 a.m. Start Time for 5K

9:30 a.m. Start Time for Kids’ Fun Run

“Cody” Blaine Jackson is one half of the Kicks Wake Up Krew on Kicks 99, and also serves as the Digital Program Director for Beasley Media Group in Augusta. She’s a Georgia native but currently resides just across the river in South Carolina. She started in the radio industry as a part-time board operator, and moved up through various roles, including on-air positions and program director for multiple stations. Her passions include fitness and anything to do with animals, as she has two fur babies, her dogs Harley and Waylon. Cody likes to write about pets, fitness and Augusta local events.
