In a press release sent out today, March 8, 2022, the Augusta Commission has lifted their mask mandate for all government buildings.

The commission voted unanimously to lift Augusta's mask mandate in government buildings, effective immediately.

“As we take steps to regain a sense of normalcy, I applaud the hard work of our healthcare community and residents for keeping our communities safe throughout the pandemic,” said Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. “As we continue to make progress even while living with COVID, the City of Augusta will continue working with our clinical partners to keep our communities
safe, healthy, and prepared.”

Even with the lifted mandate, the City is still encouraging residents to get the COVID-19 vaccination, practice social distancing and proper handwashing.
