Board of Elections directors in both Richmond and Columbia Counties say the numbers for advance voting and absentee ballots returned has been unprecedented for Tuesday’s General Election.

In Richmond County, Board of Elections Director Lynn Bailey says over 63,000 people have already voted either in-person or by absentee ballot.  In all, Bailey says she’s expecting 70% to 80% voter turnout for this election when tomorrow’s numbers are added.

In Columbia County, over 60,000 in-person and absentee ballots have been cast.  Board of Elections Director Nancy Gay says 56% of Columbia County’s registered voters have already cast a ballot.

Gay says all 47 precincts will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, but you must go to your registered polling place.
