Bed, Bath and Beyond announced today it's laying off 2,800 employees companywide, or about 5% of its workforce immediately, according to CNN.
The reduction in workforce is expected to save the retailer an estimated $150 million in annual costs.
Bed, Bath and Beyond previously announced it was closing 200 stores starting later this year.
The store closure list hasn't been made public yet.
