South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has asked the state Department of Health and Environmental Control to issue up-to-date guidelines for allowing visitation at nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
McMaster said, “Restricting visitation in those facilities in March was a heartbreaking necessity to contain the spread of Covid-19 and save the lives of the state’s elderly and at-risk residents.”
He says the time has come though to expand current rules to allow in-person visitation by immediate family members, loved ones or caregivers.
