School Boards Release Back-to-School Information

Columbia and Richmond County School Boards voted on back-to-school start dates and options for distance learning at meetings today.

In Columbia County, traditional in-person learning will begin August 3.  All preK-12 students that will be attending class in-person don't need to take any further action.  The second option is Learn from Home.  School officials say the level of instruction and learning expectations will be equal to a traditional learning environment.  You can still enroll for Learn from Home by submitting a written request at www.contactus@ccboe.net.

In Richmond County, school board members voted unanimously to delay the start of school until September 8.  Parents who opt to have their children learn from home need to register for the Online Academy at www.rcboe.org.  You must be registered by July 27. http://gty.im/1208727669
