A new patient visitation policy goes into effect tomorrow at Augusta University Health.  As some patient appointments and elective procedures have resumed this week, A-U Health officials say they are modifying the visitation policy as well as putting additional safety measures into place.

Starting Wednesday, May 6, patients may have one family member or support person with them for inpatient hospital stays and outpatient appointments.  There is one exception, however.  Patients with Covid-19 will not be allowed to have any visitors.

Masks will be required on anyone entering the hospital or clinics.  Everyone will be asked about symptoms and exposure upon entry.

Virtual visits can be coordinated by contacting the Center for Patients and Families at 706-721-7322.
