Hurricane Michael is currently expected to make landfall as a Category 4 storm along the Florida panhandle later today.

At this strength, it will become the most intense hurricane to ever strike near Panama City Beach, Florida.

According to WRDW, Michael will have life-threatening implications in Florida related to a storm surge, strong winds and heavy rain. The storm is expected to travel north and reach Georgia by Wednesday evening, and travel through the Carolinas on Thursday.

In the CSRA, residents can expect damage related to strong winds with periods of heavy downpours. By the time Michael reaches our area, it will be downgraded to a tropical storm, with the potential for 40 plus mile per hour winds.

If you haven't already done so, please gather enough supplies for your family to last for three days, and be prepared for the possibility of expended power outages.
