Heartbreaking news to report today as police believe they have located the body of a missing four-year-old in North Carolina.

Raul Gonzalez was reported missing earlier this week from a home in Scotland County. According to WISTV 10, it is believed the young boy wandered out the back door of his home while an adult was cooking.

Earlier today, officials announced they had found a body in a nearby pond matching the description of the little boy.

While the body has not been positively identified yet, it is likely the body is that of Raul Gonzalez.

The Scotland County Sheriff had said that the young child had left his home before unattended. Search teams held out hope they would find the child alive, but sadly, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
