Concrete Slab Replacement on I-20 Starts Monday

The Georgia Department of Transportation says select concrete slab replacement work starts Monday at mile marker 182 in Columbia County.

When the full-depth replacement begins, motorists should expect 24-hour lane closures while the work is being done.  Traffic will shift around one left or right I-20 lane closure, depending on slab locations.

The maintenance contract covers various locations between mile 172 and 194 on both eastbound and westbound sides of the interstate.  Work will be done on the eastbound side first.  Officials say the work should be finished in 4 to 6 weeks, weather permitting.
