Sales Tax Free Holiday Weekends Coming in GA and SC

We’re less than a month away from the start of a new school year for most area school students.  That means it’s just about time to get back-to-school shopping underway.

Georgia and South Carolina will have sales tax holiday weekends again this year to help cut costs while getting students ready to go back to school.

Georgia’s sales tax holiday will be two days, July 30 and 31, while South Carolina will have three sales-tax free days August 5-7.

Shoppers won’t pay sales tax on school supplies that are $20 or less per item; clothing and footwear $100 or less per item; computers and many accessories; as well as hundreds of other items.

Georgia also has a sales tax holiday weekend coming up at the end of September on Energy Star and Water Sense products.
