A hit-and-run wreck closed a portion of Georgia Avenue in North Augusta this morning.
Authorities say 21 year old Christian Manly drove into a curb, then crashed into a tree and utility pole before crossing all eastbound lanes of traffic and slamming into a tree in front of a home on Summit Avenue.
The North Augusta Department of Public Safety says Manly left the scene, but was apprehended a short time later. He was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
Authorities had to close Georgia Avenue between Martintown Road and Arlington Heights while crews removed accident debris.
