A tanker truck spilled an estimated 1,200 gallons of gas after scraping against a power pole at Circle K on Washington Road at Faircloth Drive early this morning.

Residents in Faircloth Commons subdivision, Jiffy Lube and Evans Diner were evacuated as a precaution.  Businesses have re-opened and traffic is moving again in the area.

Crews are still on the scene cleaning up after the spill.
