Richmond County School Board members are considering a new policy that would keep students from attending school if they refuse to be tested in the event of a possible tuberculosis scare.

Several hundred students were tested in the last couple of years after a few high school students showed symptoms of the disease.

A positive test result doesn’t necessarily mean you have TB, but it does mean you’ve been exposed.

Board members say a new policy will be in place before the new school year begins that will require students to be tested in the event of a scare…or they will have to stay home.
