Out with the old tests and in with the new. The Georgia Department of Education announced Wednesday that students will no longer take the CRCT or the EOCT to measure how they are performing.
The department will implement the Milestones Assessment System during the upcoming academic year. It will be aligned to the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards and is said to be a more consistent testing program for students in grades 3-12.
Authorities say the whole idea is to better prepare students for college and careers, and to provide a better picture of academic progress.
