The Columbia County School Board voted Tuesday to add 81 teaching positions to next year’s budget.  The additional teachers will mean smaller class sizes in some grades.

Next year’s budget also includes a one-time pay increase for all Columbia County Board of Education employees, as well as one additional paycheck in January.

The Board also gave tentative approval to a 7-period day for high school students.  They’re also considering late arrival or early release for seniors.
