More than 2,000 high school golfers, coaches and fans are expected to arrive in Augusta this weekend for the Georgia High School Association Golf State Championships.
There will be a practice round on Sunday at 11 different area golf courses, then the championship rounds will be held Monday at each of the host courses.
The courses will host 14 state championships. It’s the first time that many will be held in the same city on the same day.
The two-day event is expected to result in at least $500,000 in direct visitor spending.
