The Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Augusta Sports Council estimate that direct visitor spending from meetings, reunions and other events next month will generate over $1.8 million for the city.

Officials say that doesn’t include guest spending as a result of the Masters tournament.  Both groups say there’s no way to accurately predict what kind of economic input Masters week has on the Garden City.

Other money-making events for the city in April include the National Collegiate Disc Golf championship, and the Boshears Memorial Fly-In.
