Columbia County school board members voted three to two Tuesday night to forgive two additional school days that were missed earlier this month due to the ice storm.
Winter weather caused students to miss a total of five days of school between the end of January and mid-February.
The board had already voted to forgive two days that were missed in late January, but decided to make March 14 a makeup day for the first day missed as a result of this month’s ice storm.
After debating Tuesday about the final two days that were missed this month, the board decided not to tack on any additional makeup days.
The board had considered bringing teachers and students back to the classroom the Monday after Masters week, which was a previously scheduled holiday, but attendance was a concern since many families have already made vacation plans for spring break.
